The Story
My mother dressed me my entire life. She made couture from nothing
in Soviet Russia because nothing, is all we had. Creativity was a way
to survive for her. Stage dresses, everyday wear — she made everything,
transforming hand me downs and using unorthodox materials.
Now I dress you in a message she can't receive by mail.
There is an embargo between us.
But this message goes beyond borders and politics.
By wearing this,
you carry my story to my mother.
